Cover & Liner Leather
Check the Quote System, or reach out via email for leather pricing!
The cover leather is the outside leather you hold in-hand and gives the rebind its main look. The liner leather is the leather on the inside of the cover, what you see when you open the Bible. Together, they shape both the exterior appearance and the interior feel of the finished rebind.
Cover Leather
This is the outside leather where River Grain or Genuine Sokoto Goat skin will be used.
Liner Leather
The leather on the inside of the cover. It affects feel-in-hand and gives a finished interior.
Yapp (Standard, Semi & Full)
Standard Yapp - Included
Semi-Yapp - $10
Full-Yapp - $20
“Yapp” refers to how much the cover extends past the page edges to protect them. More yapp generally adds protection and gives a more traditional look.
Perimeter Stitching - $20
Stitching that runs around the outside edge of the cover. It adds a finished look and can improve durability at corners and high-wear areas.
Art Gilt - $25
Decorative edge finishing that adds color to the page edges for a beautiful look. Typically, newer textblocks with no defects to the pages will result with the best look. An archival ink is used in order to qive the best quality and lasting color. If you are looking for a specific color please let me know in the contact form!
Raised Hubs & Spine Stamping - INCLUDED
The raised “bands” across the spine are called hubs. The gold or silver lettering on the spine is from spine stamping using a hot foil stamping machine.
Raised Hubs
They give a traditional, structured look and pair well with spine stamping. They mimic the orginal leather/fiber straps that were traditionally used to hold books together via sewing. You can choose to have raised hubs in this traditional way, or to remove them and have a smooth spine.
Spine Stamping
Spine stamping is done with Gold or Silver foil and includes HOLY BIBLE, Translation, and our Company Mark. Standardly the gold comes in matte and metalic, while the silver is only in metallic. We do have a special service for 23k Gold stamping, but this must be specifically requested.
Ribbon Markers & Headbands - INCLUDED
Ribbon markers are installed at the head (top) of the spine. The headbands are installed at either end of the spine, the tail and head. Together, they protect one of the most handled areas of the book.
Ribbon Markers
Ribbon markers are built-in bookmarks anchored at the top of the spine. Most Bibles use 1–3 ribbons, but additional ribbons can be added depending on preference.
Headbands
Headbands are the small bands at the top and bottom of the spine. Traditionally they could be sewn for structure, but today they are usually a finishing detail that also protects the spine.
